Residents in 17 countries and over 20 states in the US, are using this method to hold government and polluters accountable. The Bucket Brigade sampling method has been approved by the US EPA. The Calumet Project is a labor-church-community coalition that has existed since 1984 in the Calumet Region of Northwest Indiana. Our work focuses primarily on the three cities of Gary, Hammond and East Chicago, IN, and the Calumet Region as a whole.
